The HFC-SMOA Strand Mounted Optical Amplifier (SMOA) is an outdoor EDFA, suitable for out-door installation. It is available with 110 VAC, 220V or 60-90 VAC or -48V DC powering.

Since the SMOA can be mounted directly on the pole line strand, in pedestals and in rugged outdoor environments there is no need for generators or costly equipment rooms making it very convenient for the project design and operation of long distance networks.
